We updated the inventory of our bare root on this page on 4/1. If there is no number next to a plant, that means we still have plenty! Please call or text before coming in if you are depending on something being at the nursery. 541-844-5559.

Why Bare Root?

Bare root is easier and less expensive for the grower (no pots/soil to deal with), which then makes these plants easier to plant and less expensive for you!

The Process....
These plants are grown in the field and then dug up. We bring them in, store in them in bark mulch or sawdust if necessary.
You pick out what you'd like, bring the plants to our register, and then we will process your payment and bag up the roots to keep them moist during their ride home! Once your bare root are home, you want to get them planted as soon as possible. You too, could store them in mulch until you are ready to plant them, but you should put them in the ground with soil before they get too much leaf growth. There are not enough nutrients in the bark or sawdust to sustain the tree long term.
You could also plant them in a container (15 gallon or larger for fruit trees and into a 1 or 2 gallon pot for smaller bare root) until you are ready to put them into the ground. They can live in a container (as long as you keep potting up a size every year) for a few years! Just make sure to use potting soil and fertilize a few times a year.

Bare root season ends around April
(by then, the plants need to be potted up or planted into the ground ASAP).

We carry potted fruit trees throughout the year:
Apples,
Pears
Asian Pears
Plums
Cherries
Figs
Kiwis
Hazelnuts
Almonds
Olives

Help us help the environment and bring your own bags to pack your bare root into.
Old soil bags, dog food bags and regular sized grocery bags for the smaller stuff, or anything like that works great.
